A grant: SHIFT Stipendium from Stuttgart City. With this I could start my idea to share stories as comic strips. Some of our stories as (Asian) migrants in Stuttgart, Germany – ZEBRAS Stories.​

​All stories were published on our Instagram collective: ZEBRAS.collective.

​For the research part, I was talking, meeting, and interviewing people... Through the process I was learning... I can write a long story. (I love making short projects more than epic long projects. That's why I turned out to be a graphic visual artist, not an architect.)

Over 30 raw stories I got from this part. At the end, some were selected, some will be combined with others... In total we have 14 stories, including the intro story. These are based on true stories from people I talked with, mixed with my perspective and some parts of my own.

"Banal, daily situations, Love & Hate" is the main idea of ZEBRAS Stories.
Creation comes from the banal. Most of the gags here as well.

This comic is in Denglish (English + German), depending on the situation. As an artist, I want to show how we as migrants perceive the world. We live in more than two languages. The whole stories are also not presented in my mother tongue.

This year, I’ve started sharing some of my projects— from my sketch to the final artwork.
For this big one project: took a whole year because we had a gap phase during other event in the city.

​Start from the Question:
“What do teenagers in Stuttgart want, feel, had felt, had experienced from the U-Bahn?”

Yes, the name YOU-Bahn is a play on words—mixing YOU and U-Bahn. 

For this project, I joined two special train rides, together with invited teenagers from different groups.
And this is the result!

​My Happy Project will be on the wall (yes! this time is REALLY HUGE) until September 14, 2025, as a part of the special exhibition "Frei Schwimmen Gemeinsam!?" at the Haus der Geschichte Baden-Württemberg.

I’m very happy to work on this project with five other young curators and researchers from different institutions. Our exhibit, Erste Klasse Rassismus (First school class racism), explores racism in Stuttgart, showing both its history and how it still affects people today.
​
Because the topic is heavy, I’ve used my playful illustrations to add a lighter touch for the audience. In some pieces, I’ve flipped traditional ideas—like showing “white” elements in bright colors, to offer a new view. In others, only white figures are shown speaking and sharing their thoughts, while people of color (PoC) are shown as silent observers, with just their eyes open to “accept” what they see.

Through these illustrations, I hope to help people think about racial issues from a new perspective.

Nach der Veröffentlichung unseres Buches wurde ich zusammen mitJasmin Olschewski interviewt. Das Interview wurde vom Thaispora-Podcast, geführt und moderiert von Pako, aufgenommen. Wir sprachen über die allgemeine Situation von Post- und Migrantinnen in Deutschland und der westlichen Welt sowie über die Konzeption hinter der Geschichte und das illustrierte Cover von mir.

In this October, Jasmin from Boobsbusiness is embarking on her 4th annual charity project to support breast cancer research. 
This year, all proceeds will be generously donated to Deutsche Krebshilfe, an organization for breast cancer. This limited collaboration art from 10 German artists, from different cities, including me.

My Illustration for the pot, with a 'Wimmelbild' or City-doodle illustration style, was inspired by the timeless beauty of Delftware. Somehow I thought about, when people drew their own stories through Porcelain.
(Boobpot's made from air-dryer ton, not a real ton :)

Ob jung, als Mitarbeiter*in, in einer Beziehung oder mit Einwanderungsgeschichte, auch unsere besonderen Gewohnheiten…
Wir alle sind den vielen verschiedenen Umständen konfrontiert, die unsere Identität ausmachen.

Ob als Comic, Karikatur, abstrakt oder als Realismus, die künstlerische Form kennt keine Grenzen. In unseren Workshops wollen wir uns darum mit vielfältigen spielerischen Zeichenübungen zusammen mit den Themen
“Identität, Gesellschaft und politische Utopien” beschäftigen und lernen, wie wir uns selbst von innen heraus stärken können.

Zum Schluss werden wir gemeinsam herausfinden, wie wir gemeinsam unter bestimmten politischen, wirtschaftlichen und sozialen Verhältnissen mit Diversität besser leben wollen.

Die Workshops finden am 24.06. und 22.07. statt*.
*24.06.,13-17h im LABYRINTH Kulturraum, Urbanstraße 64 und

*Die beiden Workshop-Programme werden unabhängig voneinander angeboten, sodass ihr an einem oder auch an beiden Workshops teilnehmen könnt. Besondere Kenntnisse werden nicht vorausgesetzt.
