Before Christmas Eve, I want to share my exciting journey at the Angoulême Comic Festival this year. The festival in 2024 will take place from the 25th to the 28th of January (check their official website here) From my experience, I can confidently say that this event is worth visiting every 1 or 2 years. The festival sprawls across the entire city, featuring comics and illustrations integrated seamlessly like street art (distinct from other countries). Helpful Tips and Tricks: 1. Traveling by Train: Getting a train is very easy and economical. Angoulême is conveniently located near Bordeaux. I personally took a TGV from Stuttgart to Paris (about 3 hours) and then a direct local train to the city. 2. French: 99% of the event is conducted in French (despite its "international scale"), Google Translate can really help you . However, if you know French, everything gets smoother! So you can fully engage with the exhibitions and explore newly published books from French publishers. 3. Culinary Exploration: Don't miss trying Picon beer – It was my first time experiencing this unique French beer and I love it! 4. Weather Preparations: Be mindful of the weather in January, which can be challenging. Bring essentials like a scarf and gloves, especially since you may have to wait in line outside various exhibition venues. (I was waiting in a line outside for 3 hours and for sure, after that it's not good. :/) Now, go ahead and enjoy your time at the festival! Voila! :) #journeyingermayha
